Fees and Limits
This schedule forms part of the ALT.VU Terms of Service at https://alt.vu/legal/terms/. Terms defined there have the same meaning here.
The figures in this schedule are the ones in force on the date above. The figures shown in the ALT.VU application immediately before you confirm an operation always take precedence, and you should check them. Network fees are set by blockchain networks, not by us, and change continuously.
1. Our fees
| Operation | Our fee |
|---|---|
| Receiving USDT or USDC (deposit) | Free |
| Sending USDT or USDC (withdrawal) | Free — the network fee below still applies |
| Crediting a deposit to your USD balance | 1 : 1, no spread |
| Card issuance | USD 25.00, one-off |
| Card transaction | 1 % of the amount settled by the Card Issuer, charged in addition to it |
| Transfer to another ALT.VU user | Free, immediate |
| Holding a balance | Free. No monthly, dormancy or maintenance fee |
| Closing your account | Free |
2. Network fees
| On a deposit | Paid by the sender to the network. It is not our charge, we do not receive it, and it does not reduce the amount credited to you |
| On a withdrawal | Charged in addition to the amount you send, and debited from your balance. It is a fixed amount for each network, set by us to cover the cost of putting the transaction on that network, and shown to you before you confirm |
The withdrawal network fee currently is USD 1.00 on TRON, USD 0.30 on BNB Chain and USD 0.20 on Polygon. We set these amounts to cover what the transaction costs us; they do not change with each transaction, and we review them as network costs change.
3. Exchange rate
| Deposits | 1 unit of USDT or USDC = USD 1.00 |
| Withdrawals | USD 1.00 = 1 unit of USDT or USDC |
| Rate lock | A rate shown to you is held for 15 minutes. If you do not confirm within that period, the rate may change |
We apply no spread and no conversion margin between a supported stablecoin and your USD balance. This does not mean a stablecoin is guaranteed to be worth one dollar on the open market; see the Risk Disclosure Statement at https://alt.vu/legal/risk/.
4. Minimum amounts
Minimums differ by network because network costs differ. The exact minimum for each operation is shown in the application before you confirm.
| Network | Assets | Minimum deposit | Minimum withdrawal |
|---|---|---|---|
| TRON (TRC20) | USDT only | USD 20 | USD 10 |
| BNB Chain (BEP-20) | USDT, USDC | USD 1 | USD 10 |
| Polygon | USDT, USDC | USD 1 | USD 10 |
The minimum withdrawal applies to the amount the recipient receives; the network fee is charged on top of it.
USDC is not supported on the TRON network
We accept USDC on BNB Chain and Polygon only. Circle has wound down its own issuance of USDC on TRON, and what circulates there is bridged tokens of another issuer, which we cannot accept.
USDC sent to us on TRON is permanently lost. We cannot credit it, we cannot recover it, and we do not compensate for it. Always use the deposit address shown in the application for the exact asset and network you are sending.
An amount sent below the minimum may be unrecoverable. We are not able to return it, and we do not compensate for it.
5. Card transactions in other currencies
The Card is a United States dollar card. If you pay a merchant in another currency, the payment scheme converts the transaction at its own rate on the date it settles, which may not be the date of your purchase. That conversion is carried out by the payment scheme, not by us, and the rate is not ours.
The amount finally debited may therefore differ from the amount shown at the point of sale. This is also the case where a merchant places an authorisation hold for a different amount, settles later at a different amount, or adds its own surcharge.
6. What we do not charge
We do not charge for opening an account, for identity verification, for a failed or rejected transaction, for customer support, for a statement, or for closing your account. We charge no inactivity or dormancy fee.
7. Charges by other people
The following are not our charges, and we do not receive them:
- the network fee taken by a blockchain network;
- a fee charged by the wallet or exchange you send from;
- a currency conversion charge applied by the payment scheme;
- a surcharge added by a merchant; and
- an ATM operator's fee, where cash access is available.
8. Changes to this schedule
We may change this schedule. Where a change increases what you pay, we will give at least 30 days' notice by email and in the application before it takes effect, as set out in clause 20 of the Terms of Service. The version in force at the time of an operation applies to that operation. Earlier versions are available on request from legal@alt.vu.
